Why a refinery is an unusual place to learn the power business.

Refineries are among the most demanding power environments there are: continuous process load, no tolerance for an unplanned trip, hazardous area classification everywhere, and a fuel system that is also the product. Learning to generate reliably in that environment is a harder starting point than a greenfield pad — and it transfers.

It also gives us the thing no independent power developer has: the molecules. The Fredericia site supplies more than 35% of Danish liquid fuel consumption to ships, aircraft, cars and trucks. It is one of the world's most energy-efficient refineries, and Denmark's largest supplier of surplus heat to district heating — heating over 115,000 homes in the Triangle Region, equivalent to the annual consumption of around 23,000 households.

A second hub, sited where the bridge is shortest.

West Texas is where the two halves of our model meet. It has the gas that rung 03 depends on, the fuel logistics that rung 01 depends on, and the load growth that makes both worth building for.

Targeting the Stanton area puts capacity inside the Permian's demand centre while keeping a realistic path to pipeline gas — so the bridge from liquid fuel to gas is measured in months rather than years.
